Our Story

The name "Zula" held deep meaning - in Turkish, it referred to a hidden unique place, a sanctuary where one could escape the chaos of the outside world. Zula was born out of a deep-rooted love for the rich and diverse culinary traditions of the Mediterranean region. From the moment one stepped foot into Zula, they were transported to a different world. The rustic yet elegant decor, adorned with vibrant hues and simple patterns, reflected the unique diversity of the Mediterranean landscapes. The ambiance warm and welcoming, as if beckoning guests to leave their worries at the door and embrace the experience that awaited them.

The founder, Abdullah Mavis who had spent years traveling through the vibrant cities of Turkiye, exploring the sun-soaked shores of Greece, and immersing himself in the flavors of Aegean Sea.

His journeys had revealed to him the incredible cultural tapestry that made up the Mediterranean, and he was inspired to recreate this experience in his very own restaurant. He set out to create a place where people could gather, unwind, and indulge in the hidden treasures of the Mediterranean.
